Hands-Free Driver Assistance

Experience a different kind of driving confidence.
Cadillac Super Cruise combines advanced vehicle technology,
precision mapping and driver-attention monitoring to provide
hands-free driver assistance on compatible roads.

A New Kind of Driving Experience

What Is Cadillac Super Cruise?

Super Cruise is Cadillac’s available advanced
hands-free driver-assistance technology.
When the vehicle is traveling on a compatible road and the
required conditions are met, Super Cruise can assist with
steering while Adaptive Cruise Control helps manage speed
and following distance.

The result is a driving experience that can allow you to
travel hands-free while still remaining attentive to the
roadway and prepared to take control whenever necessary.

Important Distinction

Is Super Cruise a Self-Driving System?

No. Super Cruise is an advanced
driver-assistance system. It does not make a Cadillac
fully autonomous. The driver must remain attentive to
traffic and road conditions and be ready to take control
of the vehicle when necessary.

The Technology

How Does Super Cruise Work?

Super Cruise brings together several sophisticated
technologies to help determine the vehicle’s location,
understand the road ahead and assist the driver.

01

Precision Mapping

Precision LiDAR map data helps Super Cruise understand
the characteristics and geometry of compatible roads.

02

Cameras & Radar

Vehicle cameras and radar sensors provide real-time
information about lane positioning and vehicles
surrounding your Cadillac.

03

GPS Positioning

GPS data helps determine the vehicle’s position
in relation to the mapped Super Cruise-compatible
roadway.

04

Adaptive Cruise Control

Adaptive Cruise Control helps manage vehicle speed
and maintain a driver-selected following distance
from detected traffic ahead.

05

Steering Assistance

When Super Cruise is active, the system can provide
steering assistance to help keep the vehicle centered
within its lane.

06

Driver Attention

A Driver Attention System helps monitor the driver’s
head position and eye gaze to make sure attention
remains focused on the road.

Eyes on the Road

Driver Attention Is Still Essential

Hands-free does not mean attention-free.

Super Cruise uses a Driver Attention System to monitor
the driver’s head position and eye gaze. If the system
determines that the driver is not paying sufficient
attention to the road, it can provide visual and audible
alerts and prompt the driver to take control.

Remember

Hands-Free| NOT |Attention-Free

The driver remains responsible for monitoring the road
and must always be prepared to take control.

Advanced Capability

Super Cruise Lane Changing

Depending on the Cadillac model and equipment,
Super Cruise can provide advanced lane-change assistance
while hands-free driving is active.

Turn Signal Activated Lane Change

On properly equipped vehicles, activate the turn signal
and Super Cruise can steer the vehicle into an available
adjacent lane when conditions allow.

Automatic Lane Change

On select properly equipped vehicles, Super Cruise
can initiate certain lane changes automatically when
conditions are appropriate, such as passing slower traffic
or responding to some lane and route situations.

Compatible Roads

Where Can You Use Super Cruise?

Super Cruise hands-free functionality is designed for
compatible roads that have been mapped for the system.
Cadillac’s compatible-road network continues to expand.

Road compatibility, vehicle equipment, GPS availability,
visible lane markings, weather conditions and other factors
can affect whether Super Cruise is available at a particular
time.
